History

The Beginning

The Lake Arrowhead Classical Ballet Company’s first performance of The Nutcracker was actually a trial run in July 1994. It was a performance of Act I only — challenge enough for a brand new endeavor.

What everyone remembers most is that it was hot in July, too hot to be thinking of Christmas and waltzing snowflakes. But though it may have been an odd time of year, the experiment was deemed a great success. Preparations began for a full production the following December.
