Summer Intensive Program

The 2008 Summer Intensive Program will be offered in two tracks, one for Ballet III, IV, and V, and the other for Ballet I and II.

Ballet III, IV, V

This track will meet for two ballet classes each weekday morning — 9:30 to 11:00 and 11:00 to 12:00. The first class each morning will focus on fundamental ballet technique, building a strong foundation for everything expected of a well-trained dancer. The second class will cover more of the specific skills which must become part of a dancer's arsenal. This is a total of 10 classes per week.

Tuition for this track is $850 for the full five week session, paid in advance, or a drop-in rate of $20.

Ballet I & II

This track will meet for ballet class on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings — 9:30 to 11:00. On Wednesday mornings, this will be followed by a Modern class — 11:00 to 12:00. This is a total of 4 classes per week.

Tuition for this track is $350 for the full five week session, paid in advance, or a drop-in rate of $20.

Ana Lobe Armando Neri

Guest Teachers

Ana Lobe

We pleased that Ana Lobe will be joining us for Week 3 of the Summer Intensive Program. She will teach a combined ballet technique class each morning for all of the Summer Intensive students (Ballet I thru V), and then continue with the advanced students (Ballet III, IV, and V) for the specialty class which follows.

Ana first visited Lake Arrowhead in 2005 when she danced the role of Sugar Plum Fairy in the LACBC’s production of The Nutcracker. She was a guest teacher during our 2006 and 2007 Summer Programs and we are very happy that she will be with us again.

Armando Neri

Also joining us again is Armando Neri, who will teach the Flamenco class. Señor Neri is, of course, no stranger here in Lake Arrowhead, having taught this class every summer for many years, and having danced in the LACBC Nutcracker since the very beginning. His enthusiasm and his skill at teaching the precise art of Flamenco have always made this a popular class. We’re glad he’ll be making the trip up the mountain again this summer.

Vicki Clemence

Vicki Clemence is the founder, and for the last 24 years, the director and instructor for the Vicki Clemence Modeling and Performing Arts Center. She teaches the Patricia Stearns, Rita LeRoy, and John Robert Powers modeling methods. With this varied background, she is able to teach every facet of modeling: wholesale, retail, and photographic.

Vicki produced the community television series “Vicki Clemence Presents... Here and There.” She filmed segments on fashion shows, poise, charm, confidence, and etiquette. Her remote crews traveled throughout Southern California in search of interesting material.

Vicki teaches commercial and theatrical workshops and is a commercial and theatrical manager for children. Many of her students are doing commercials, movies, and print work.

Two mottos clearly state the premise of her modeling courses. “I approve of me,” sets the stage for students to gain higher self esteem and self confidence by learning to sit, stand, walk, and move correctly. “It's nice to be beautiful, but it's more beautiful to be nice,” is the inner attitude she tries to develop in her students.
