Dear Parents,

The Spring Showcase is quickly approaching and I would like to take this opportunity to familiarize you with the format. Here is a list of a few things to expect:

1. Your child's teacher will be taking measurements and deciding on costumes. Most costumes are around $50.00. They are yours to enjoy after the production. We recommend that once you have received your child's costume, you put it in a safe place and not let the child wear it until the dress rehearsal. Costumes can not be replaced.

2. Both group and individual photos will be taken at the Lakeside Studio (the photo studio you pass on your way to the dance school). They will be taking appointments for the two Saturdays before the Spring Showcase. The purchase of group and individual photos is optional. You will need to fill out the photo forms in order to be scheduled for the photo shoot.

3. Tickets will be on sale about 6 weeks prior to the performance. They are $11.25 per performance. All accounts must be current to purchase tickets. You will be able to order your tickets on-line on our website (arrowheadballet.org) or at the dance studio ticket computer. We now have a ticket agency to make it easier for you to purchase tickets at your convenience. We do not pre-order or reserve seats until they are paid for. The sale date will be posted about 1 week prior to sales. The price of the tickets help to offset the costs of the theater, backdrops, and ticket processing costs.

4. Dress rehearsal is on Friday night at 5:00 P.M. the day before the show. All dancers must come dressed in costume, with make-up and hair done, ready to perform.

5. Every dance group has a mom appointed to escort the dancers on and off stage and to be in charge of that group before and after their performance. If you are interested in doing this please contact the teacher.

6. Dancers are to be dropped off back stage 1/2 hour before the show. You can pick up your child after the performance at the side door of the dressing area. We ask that no fathers go into the dressing rooms, because there are children changing. We have very limited space in the dressing areas, so we ask that if you are not assigned to work that you do not come into the dressing area. If you would like to stay nearby, but are not assigned to work backstage, you may volunteer with concessions, gift table or ticket taking.

7. There are 3 performances: Saturday 2:30 matinee, Saturday 7:30 evening, and Sunday 2:30 matinee. Pre-school children do not always perform in all shows. You will be informed by you teacher as to what shows you will be performing in.

8. You will receive a recital contract. This is so that we know who is participating in the recital, as it is not mandatory participation.

If you have any questions concerning the Spring Showcase be sure to always ask the teacher, they are working for you. This is always such an exciting time for all dancers and such a rewarding experience to take their work to the stage. We thank you for giving us the opportunity to enrich the lives of your children with the art of dance.

Sincerely,
Sharon McCormick and Staff
