Donor Support

The Lake Arrowhead Classical Ballet Company relies on the generosity of volunteers and private donors to support its activities. Many members of our community in and around Lake Arrowhead have contributed their time, talents, and financial support to make the Company possible.

Your contribution will play an important role in the economic and artistic growth of our community and will help to continue to provide our children with the discipline of dance and the gratification of accomplishment.

The Sugar Plum Tea

This is an annual event, held in early September. For the past several years it has been hosted by Neale and Patricia Perkins, who have opened their home and garden for a wonderful afternoon. The setting is beautiful and activities delightful — an excellent kick-off for each season’s production of The Nutcracker.

Scrip

Through the generosity of our two local markets, Jensens and Stater Bros., there is another way you can help support the ballet company — and there’s no cost to you. All you have to do is buy gift certificates or a gift card for the store of your choice. You get full value on your grocery store purchases and the ballet company earns 6%.

Jensens uses certificates, which are available in several denominations and redeemable at the checkout stand. Choose a certificate value based on your typical purchase total, and buy enough certificates to last you a few trips to the store.

Stater Bros. uses plastic cards with a magnetic stripe, with several choices of total purchase value. The system is higher tech and more flexible. Each time you shop you’ll swipe the card and deduct the exact amount of your purchases from the remaining value of the card. Your receipt will show how much is left.

Jensens and Stater Bros. have set up Scrip programs as a way make a generous contribution to the community in which they do business. But they’ve left it up to us to determine how that generosity is distributed. LACBC’s benefit from the program will be proportional to our enthusiasm for participating in it.

Scrip certificates and cards are available at The Studio Boutique. You have to eat anyway, so make your grocery purchases count toward something more. This is a great way to support the LACBC with a minimum of effort on your part.

Scholarship Fund

Each year we encourage our dancers to audition for summer training programs at the major ballet companies across the country. Training with these companies is of great value to the dancers, both in dance technique and personal growth. And our company as a whole benefits greatly from their experience.

Through the initiative and organizing efforts of David Wilson, the Lake Arrowhead Classical Ballet Company sponsors a scholarship fund to help support these dancers. Much of the fund-raising effort is focused on an annual Scholarship Dinner (held during the springtime), but additional contributions to this fund are welcome at any time of the year.
